Gymkhana Rules and Etiquette
Warming up in the Arena:
When you use the warm-up ring make sure everyone goes in the same direction
When circling the Ring, pass slower horses to the inside, that is, to the center of the Ring rather than between the slow horse and the rail.
Never cut another horse off when you pass.
If a horse is out control or riderless in the Ring, all other riders should stop or go to the center of the ring.
Dress Code: Helmets are mandatory for juniors and highly recommended for adults. Sensible boots with heels. Horses: red ribbon in the tail if the horse kicks
Waiting Outside the Ring:
No galloping.
Be aware of others needing access to gates or mounting blocks – don’t block them.
Be aware of people on foot
Please pick up manure as soon as convenient and dispose properly.
Try and pair up with another rider and look after each other. Young horses and green riders should be on the Buddy system.
BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!
